Understanding installment payment structures
Some programs and third-party lenders advertise weekly or monthly installment financing for bariatric procedures. This page explains what to look for so you can make an informed decision.
Questions to ask before signing
- What is the total amount financed, including all fees?
- What is the APR? What is the finance charge?
- How many payments? What is the payment schedule?
- What happens if a payment is missed?
- Is prepayment allowed without penalty?
- Is the financing arranged by the program, an affiliated lender, or an independent lender?
- Are the terms in writing before the procedure is scheduled?
Red flags
- Financing terms not disclosed in writing
- Pressure to sign quickly to "lock in" a price
- No stated APR or total finance charge
- Terms that change between the initial quote and the final agreement
GLPSurgery.com does not extend financing directly. Financing options discussed by any coordinator are provided by third parties; terms are set by those parties and are subject to their approval process.
