About

Medical Review & Clinical Oversight

GLPSurgery.com is an educational resource. Our content is reviewed by clinicians with relevant training in bariatric and metabolic medicine and is updated on a periodic schedule. This page describes our reviewer, our standards, and how to read the review dates that appear at the top of each article.

Named physician reviewer

Reviewer: Editorial Medical Review Board — a panel of clinicians with experience in bariatric surgery, metabolic medicine, and endocrinology. The named individual reviewer and full credential set are being finalized and will be published here. Until then, articles carry the editorial board attribution and are reviewed internally before publication.

Credentials

Reviewers hold an MD or equivalent medical degree and have active or recently active clinical experience in the relevant subspecialty. Conflict-of-interest information for each reviewer will be disclosed once the named reviewer is published.

Last reviewed dates

Each article carries a "Last reviewed" date at the top of the page. We aim to review high-traffic clinical articles at least once every 12 months, and sooner when new guidance, new evidence, or material safety updates are published by ASMBS, ADA, AACE, NIH, NIDDK, or peer-reviewed metabolic-medicine literature.

Editorial standards

  • Content is written in neutral, third-person, evidence-informed language.
  • We avoid claims of superiority of any specific treatment, brand, or clinic.
  • We avoid claims of cure, guarantee, or permanence for any therapy.
  • We cite well-recognized sources, including specialty societies and peer-reviewed literature.
  • Pricing and cost discussions describe categories and publicly available ranges, not promotional offers.
  • Patient-facing decision content directs readers to a qualified clinician for individualized advice.
